Mr. Beaker figured out how to get his collar off today. And then he chewed it to bits. The leash too. I don't know what I'm going to do with my crazy puppy.

Try a harness (http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2751407). They're harder to get out of, and more comfortable for the dog.

Thanks, we'll try that but it looks like something he can't wear all the time, and I want him to be able to wear his id tags in case he ever gets loose.

Well, he probably shouldn't wear it all the time. Main thing with a collar is to make sure it's not too loose. He shouldn't be able to chew it off if it fits right. You should be able to slip 2 fingers snugly between the collar and his neck.

I've never actually owned a dog, but I had the (mis?)fortune to sit next to a trainer on a vacation flight to Vancouver. Talked my ear off.

It fits, or did, fit properly until he ate it. He used his paws to scratch at the fastener until he got it open. Then he chewed the thing to pieces.

He's very determined.
