I've been listening to this one a lot lately.

Wow...that's fantabulous stuff!

Don Henley, right?

It is, yes. I like the Eagles but their new album is something I can't wrap my head around. How do classic rock stars go country?

And I'm sorry, but do I know you?

Who can explain it, who can tell you why? Although according to my grandfather, they were country when they put out "Peaceful Easy Feeling."

Not really...sorry, I'm all blunt and overly familiar like that. :P My name's Rian. I was being all interwebby and saw your journal on a friend of a friend of a friend's friends list...or something like that.

Anyway, this is the more polite me. Rian Baxter, harmless crazy person. It's nice to meet you. :)

Pippa Kerr.

I sometimes forget that the whole internet can read this. I'm used to very few people actually commenting here. Typically just friends and the like that I know in person.

Are you in NYC?

Wow...that's a really pretty name!

I know, right? I used to have this really craptastic website before I got a LiveJournal. Way cooler to have this thing...you meet some really cool people this way. Case in point, people with really awesome names. ;)

Oh, no...opposite coast. I'm in Los Angeles, home of sand, surf, and all things liberal-minded. I have some pseudo-extended family in New York, though. My best friend was born in Queens, and my grandfather lived in NYC for a few years at the tail end of the Sixties. Some of my boyfriend's family lives out there, too.

I was born and raised here. Well, not here specifically, but in the state of New York. Lived here most of my life, nowhere else feels like home. And no matter what other native New Yorkers will tell you, there is nothing wrong with Staten. I adore the little island that everyone else abhors.

I'm afraid I'm not terribly interesting. I mostly tend to talk about my job at Last Call, best bar you'll find in the city as far as I'm concerned. And my puppy, Mr. Beaker. He's not usually at the bar.

I'm pretty much the same way with my town. LA's my baby...it's not all fake boobs and Hollywood promises, but it's not the land of granola and eternal summer, either. It's...it's like the Mothership. Normal folks and those who belong need not apply.

...and Granddad says he loves Staten Island. Pardon me while I kill him for reading over my shoulder. Grandparents.

Awww, you have a puppy? How neat! Single mother with dog over here...equally dull, only my puppy's a Mexican wolf dog. He's gorgey, and I totally need to take more pictures of him, I swear.

Does he really? Definitely not a native New Yorker by any means.

I do, he's a Doberman and still hasn't grown into his floppy ears.

New Yorker by osmosis, or so he likes to say. He's another California native, just transplanted himself during some tough times back when.

Oh God, baby Dobermans are the cutest! Right next to miniature poodles and Shi Tzus. But then again I'm biased...my boyfriend has one. And I'd say wolves, being I own one, but they're not cute, they're beautiful.

And honestly, a Doberman named Mr. Beaker? You are made of win. :p

We've decided to leave his tail and ears intact. He's just too sweet with his tail-wagging and ear-flopping to change his looks.

Mr. Beaker owes his name to the Muppets. I may have talked someone else into naming her cat Bork Bork. Most people don't understand my oh so refined sense of humor.

Good call...seriously, that little punum is as deadly as Millie's! (The aforementioned Shi Tzu.)

I figured, yeah...and your sense of humor owns. I love it...my sense of humor wants to ask your sense of humor out for coffee, gender of said humor be damned. :p

That little what?

Well my sense of humor, along with the rest of me, is quite happily taken, I'm afraid. But thank you for the offer.
