New Year's Resolution: No Drunk Posting on the Internet

It's almost January 2nd for me and I am only now feeling alive enough to venture out of bed for any length of time. I have not been that hungover in oh--ever. Wine, red wine, is evil. Vile. Tasty and good and it tricks you. I could have sworn my head was going to fall off this morning.

Thankfully, it has not and the headache is mostly gone and the nausea is completely gone. Don't get me wrong, I obviously enjoyed the party last night (maybe a little too much considering how I felt today) but there is no way I would have had a good time sober. Of course, getting completely plowed wasn't really the best idea either...

Kindly disregard some of my inane babbling from yesterday. While there is a lot of 2008 that I do not care to ever revisit, and I won't really discuss it here because it's not suitable subject matter for my blog, there is a great deal of 2008 that was wonderful and I don't ever wish to forget.

Mr. Beaker--and I miss him, but I know Mike's taking care of my puppy for me. I never thought of myself as a pet owner and didn't plan to adopt a Doberman puppy but I'm glad I did. He's the sweetest thing ever, endlessly cute and I miss the way he liked to sleep with his head on my hip when he'd flop down in my bed at night.

Breaker Street--it isn't my good thing here, but I am entirely proud of the band and everything they achieved last year. It makes me happy to know that they are well on their way to getting the success that they've wanted and worked for. And some day I can actually say "I knew them when..." I do miss them, the bi-weekly gigs at Last Call and more than that, the informal get togethers we used to have. Kreske, I'll email you later.

Rory Stone--Ro is, was, and always will be the best thing that ever happened to me. I don't know what else to say about that.

Being back in Venice--I hate what brought me here, but I am so very glad to be 'home'

Canned Cheeseburgers--I'm really not going to explain this one.

Now, I think I am going to sneak downstairs quietly and see about raiding the refrigerator. Minestrone is calling my name and I don't want to disappoint it.

(Kreske, of course)

No need to wait for an e-mail, honeycomb. Good to hear you're settling in.

And minestrone is a perfectly acceptable hangover cure. I've used it for the purpose myself.

Hey you, you caved in and joined the modern era of technology!

I'm so sorry I didn't take the time to say goodbye in person. I hope you know that I miss you, have missed you, and our chats. Things have just been...well, I guess I don't really need to tell you that.

I think the hangover's mostly gone, I'm just starving. I should probably be ashamed to admit that I didn't even bother to heat the soup, I'm eating it chilled.

Did you have a good New Year's Eve?

Eh. Life happens, kiddo, as I so well know. At least in this 'modern era of technology' we can stay in touch.

Call it gazpacho with pasta.

I've certainly got no complaints. We all got together at The Columns and let it rip. Thought we ought to enjoy at least one more pre-release shebang without a bunch of expectations attached, you know?

I do intend to keep in touch.

I'll call it gone, actually. I meant it when I said I was starving.

Sounds like you had a nice evening. When is the release scheduled for anyway? I feel awful for not knowing.

It's scheduled for mid-February, which means it will probably happen in late March. We'll see. Serptichore has some damn fine people working with us, so maybe I'm being pessimistic.

It's kinda surreal to think this is actually happening.

I'm so proud of you all, and excited for you. I knew you'd do it, I just didn't realize--and feel free to think I am a complete idiot for this--who Mr. Fellowes was when I insisted he come here you play. But I always knew you were talent enough.

HAHAHAHA PIPPA KERR HAD A HANGOVER.

[identity profile] sand-andwater.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, James. As an adult of legal drinking age, I had one too many last night. I am sure this is endlessly amusing and fascinating to you.

How are your classes this term?

[identity profile] favored-prongs.livejournal.com 2009-01-01 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
No, what's funny is that you knew you would get sick but did it anyway. YOU ARE NOT AS WISE AS YOU THINK!

BORING.

[identity profile] sand-andwater.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
I'm wise enough to know that the benefits outweighed the cons.

[identity profile] favored-prongs.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry. Want me to sex you?

[identity profile] sand-andwater.livejournal.com 2009-01-02 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
JAMES POTTER!

1) That is wholly inappropriate

2) You are FAR too young for me

3) You are far to young and immature for that sort of relationship

4) This conversation is over.
