Pippa nodded and then raised her left hand to accept the glass from the waiter, not thinking about the view she was giving Aryn of the side of her hand and the obviously missing digit. Too late she realizes her gaffe and nearly spills her wine in an effort to set the glass down and rehide her hand.

"Things have been...tense, I'm sure I'm making it sound worse than it is, I can't really talk to anyone about it. Everyone I know is either in his band or related to him." She gives Aryn a look of pleading, not wanting to explain her injury. "Besides, I can hardly blame him when I'm the problem, he's a dear to put up with me."
